This bottle opener is handcrafted from an upcycled Sonoma County wine barrel stave used in production for up to five years. Each oak stave curves slightly (as is natural where the stave connects to the head [top] of the barrel). Magnets have been embedded in the back to allow the bottle opener face to "catch" bottle caps as they fall.
The design retains the authentic markings from the barrel bands and wine with light sanding, and is treated with natural shellac to seal it for years.
Every wine barrel stave will be different; with variations in color, size, wood grain, assembly markings, metal ring markings, etc.
The wine barrel stave is approximately 6"-9" long, and a rustic treated cast iron finish bottle opener is securely fastened to the face.
Your bottle opener can be used in hand or mounted on the wall easily with the pre-drilled holes for use indoors or out.
Make sure to choose which orientation you want the stave to face! If you choose "top," your bottle opener will have the croze groove (where the stave touches the barrel head) at the top. If you choose bottom, your bottle opener will have the croze groove at the bottom.
